Orthodontics
Orthodontics can be defined as the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of teeth and chin impairments.
Reasons of Orthodontic Impairments
1) Genetic factors
2) Cleft palate and cleft lip
3) Respiratory disorder
4) Habits ( i.e. excessive use of pacifiers, or thumb sucking)
5) Early loss of milk teeth
6) Teeth grinding and facial traumas
Importance of Orthodontic Treatment
Uneven teeth do not only cause an undesirable esthetical appearance. Uneven teeth are impossible to clean completely however well you care for or brush them. Therefore, they can lead to dental caries and gingival diseases which can cause loss of teeth later. As a result, orthodontic treatments are necessary not only for esthetical concerns, but also to prevent possible oral and tooth diseases, and to ensure oral hygiene.
